VFXWages was created by a couple of visual effects professionals based in Los Angeles. We were disappointed with how secretive wages and salaries can be in the industry, and chose to try and do something about it. Not only are our wages for the visual effects industry, we also cater towards our peers that are also having tremendous growth; gaming, motion graphics, 3D animation, and most of the creative arts community.
In creating VFXWages, we strive to give the community a way to quickly and easily identify an appropriate wage to ask for in salary negotiations. This community is global in scope, and allows you to compare yourself to others in the field around the world..
Our database of wages is normalized to a 260 day / 40 hr work week, based on the currency of your choice. We decided on this method because it is the most common way to aggregate wage information among the different methods that film and television studios pay their artists.
